Letters home – I am so so sorry

Dear Mum,

I am so so sorry, I’ve sat down so many times to write, actually that’s not entirely true – I’ve thought about sitting down to write so many times! But I can’t even begin to describe how busy the term ended up being – far more so than I ever imagined! A few weeks into the term proper, when people were truly frantic, I spoke to a few different people about coping mechanisms and it varied from skipping lecture preparation to skipping lectures, to skipping sleep!

That said I do have to admit I found time for some sports… literally nothing else, I even missed Stephen Hawking’s lecture. But I did make the Keble College MCR women’s football team, really quite social, lots of tea and cake involved. I also more excitingly made the Oxford University Ice Hockey team! No really! I’m absolutely delighted, though the training schedule is gruelling. We have our ‘big game’ next term which is the Varsity Match against Cambridge, the results of all other matches pale in comparison to its outcome! I’ll also get a half blue for representing Oxford! Who would have thought it!

Incredibly the entire term has disappeared and I write to you at the peak of my prevarication for Analytics revision. Attached is a pic of Keble’s Christmas tree to get you in the festive spirit as well as this year’s Matriculating students in the distance – beginning and end of term! I’ve also enclosed my last letter, which I did actually write but never sent – apologies.

Love to Dad and see you soon,

Bex
